BAC and Kenya's VAAK seal a strategic alliance for a pan-African blockchain ecosystem

The Blockchain Association of Cameroon (BAC) and the Virtual Assets Association of Kenya (VAAK) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, formalized 18 August 2026, to build a strategic bridge between Central and East Africa around education, governance, regulatory dialogue, startups and research — a first step toward a pan-African network of blockchain associations.
BAC restructures its Honorary Council leadership

Following an extraordinary session on 3 March 2026, Alain Olivier Noël Mekulu Mvondo Akame (DG, CNPS) becomes Président-Exécutif of the Conseil des Membres d'Honneur, while founding Council President Dr. Henri Tafou moves to a new 'Conseiller Général' role. Two MINPOSTEL officials join the Council.
MINPOSTEL confirms BAC's role in ITU-supported AI regulatory sandbox

A signed ministerial letter confirms the ITU is supporting MINPOSTEL in setting up an operational sandbox for government AI applications, with a joint virtual launch workshop held 28 May 2026.
